Oral mucosal biopsy is a simple and safe procedure during which a small tissue sample is taken from the mouth for histological examination. It is the most reliable diagnostic method in cases of suspicious lesions or abnormalities within the oral cavity.

When is a biopsy needed?

• When a lesion does not heal after 2–3 weeks
• When white, red, or pigmented patches appear
• When there are swellings or nodules on the gums, tongue, or oral mucosa
• When diagnostic confirmation is required for benign or malignant conditions
