Oral Biopsy

An oral biopsy is a simple and safe procedure in which a small tissue sample is taken from the mouth for histological examination. It is the most reliable diagnostic method in cases of suspicious lesions or abnormalities in the oral cavity.

When is a biopsy needed?
  • When a lesion does not heal after 2–3 weeks
  • When white, red, or pigmented patches appear
  • When there are swellings or nodules on the gums, tongue, or oral mucosa
  • When diagnostic confirmation is required for benign or malignant conditions

How is the procedure performed?

Under local anesthesia, a small portion of tissue is removed painlessly. The sample is sent to a specialized laboratory for histological analysis, and the results guide the treatment plan.
